My Journal

The Farm

Working on a farm sounded simple to me at first, fresh air, open space, and something different from the city. But I quickly realised how much the harvest actually requires, both physically and spiritually. Being covered in dirt and Nastergal juice, facing moments of correction, and working closely with others exposed areas in my heart where I was still relying on performance, appearance, and comparison instead of God. Through the work, the conversations, and the time spent with people, the Lord began to shift my perspective. He showed me that He has called me to complete what He has given me, not compete with others, and that there is something powerful about walking in unity and allowing Him to do the work in me.

Bible School and Discipleship 101 have already started to shift my focus. I went into this season wanting more than just knowledge; I want my foundations to be strong and for the Word to actually shape how I live. Going back to the basics has shown me how easy it is to assume I understand something, yet how necessary it is to revisit it and let the Holy Spirit bring clarity. I am also seeing more clearly how central faith really is, not just something we talk about, but something we live by daily. In this season, God is teaching me to move beyond knowing the Word and to start living it, allowing His truth to become the standard for my life.

Orientation 2026 brought a clear word that has stayed with me: remain in the place God has put me. Instead of trying to figure out my future or answer questions ahead of time, I am learning to stay in His favour, His peace, and His anointing. It made me realise how quickly I can move into overthinking, yet God is calling me to trust Him rather than try to work everything out myself. Psalm 55:22 reminds me to cast my cares on the Lord and let Him sustain me. In this season, I am choosing to stay where He has placed me, trusting that as I do, the answers I need will come in His timing.

The Camp Meeting and Easter Weekend messages in Clarens shifted my understanding of what it means to live for God. I was confronted with the reality that nothing I have is actually mine to own, but mine to manage, which changes how I view my time, my life, and my decisions. At the same time, the focus moved from trying to perform or be accurate to actually living by the life of the Spirit and trusting God’s Word. I could see how easily I lean toward doing things in my own strength, instead of speaking and living from what God has already placed in me. In this season, I am choosing to be intentional about not just hearing the Word, but doing it, allowing the Holy Spirit to lead me in how I live and trusting that as I speak His Word, He is at work in every area of my life.

Message Moments is bringing me back to a clear and necessary focus on what faith is actually for. I am being challenged by the reminder that faith is not for chasing outcomes, but for seeking God Himself, and it is exposing where I have been more focused on results than on relationship. It is making me evaluate how I am using my faith and whether my actions are actually reflecting obedience and alignment with Him. At the same time, I am being reminded that I have to make a daily decision about which King I am serving, because what I submit to is shaping how I live. In this season, I am choosing to seek God first, to let His Word lead me, and to walk in obedience in the small things, trusting that everything else flows from that place.
